The 7th Budapest LNG Summit

Energy Analytical Studies, as a media partner, presents the Budapest LNG Summit – an important gas industry event for Central and South-Eastern Europe.

The 7th Budapest LNG Summit, the premier gas and LNG conference in Central and South-Eastern Europe, will take place on May 7, 2026, at the Hotel Marriott Budapest. The high-level forum will once again bring together senior executives, policymakers, infrastructure operators and market experts from more than 25 countries to discuss the key trends shaping the future of gas in the region.

As geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, shifting supply routes and the phase-out of Russian gas continue to reshape global energy markets, the role of LNG and regional infrastructure has become more critical than ever. The 2026 Budapest LNG Summit will focus on the evolving global gas- and LNG landscape, energy security, infrastructure development and market integration across Central and Eastern Europe.

Gergely Molnár, Gas Analyst at the International Energy Agency (IEA), will present a global outlook on gas and LNG markets in an increasingly fragmented geopolitical environment, while Zoltán Áldott, Chair of IOGP Europe, will address key trends in the upstream energy sector. Luis Sanchez, Head of LNG at MET Group, will provide a regional perspective on gas markets and LNG integration in Central Europe.

Experts will explore the impact of geopolitical developments – including the Middle East conflict – on global and regional gas markets. Speakers, including Ralf Dickgreber, Head of Global LNG & Biomass at ENGIE; Vitaliy Baylarbayov, Deputy Vice-President at SOCAR; Mithat Aydin, Deputy General Manager at BOTAŞ; Gábor Orbán, CEO of MVM ONEnergy; Franck Neel, Member of the Executive Board of OMV Petrom and Eszter Szekeres, CEO of MET Hungary, will discuss supply security, LNG’s role in system flexibility, and how global supply growth is reshaping regional strategies.

Further insights into global LNG dynamics will be provided by Jefferson Edwards, Vice President at Shell Energy, who will present Shell’s latest outlook on supply, demand and pricing trends. Infrastructure and market integration will also be in focus with key transmission system operators, including Szabolcs I. Ferencz, CEO of Hungarian Gas TSO – FGSZ; Elio Ruggeri, Managing Director of SNAM Energy Terminals; Vladimir Malinov, CEO of Bulgartransgaz; Milan Sedláček, Head of EU Affairs and Strategy at Eustream; Konstantinos Sifnaios, Vice President and Managing Director of Gastrade and Natalia Boyko, CEO of GTSO Ukraine, discussing the future of cross-border cooperation projects in ensuring regional resilience.

The impacts of the Russian gas phase-out and of LNG supply shocks on wholesale gas prices in CEE and the Balkans will also be on the table, presented by Borbála Takácsné Tóth, Senior Analyst at REKK, addressing the readiness of European infrastructure and the price impacts of supply shocks in the region.

The programme will also address the role of gas in Europe’s energy transition and competitiveness, with contributions from Eurogas as well as gas trading dynamics, risk management and pricing strategies in an increasingly volatile global market, featuring speakers such as László Fritsch, Deputy CEO of MVM ONEnergy and Dániel Garai, CEO of CEEGEX.
